The Logo

In 1998 the Wi Pere trustees commissioned renowned local tohunga Derek Lardelli to design a logo that the Trust could use, that in his view reflected the mana of Wi Pere.

The logo as shown was completed by Derek and approved and adopted by the trustees. Derek's inspiration for the logo came from his knowledge and understanding of Wi Pere's mana. which he interprets as follows:

Colours Used:
Black Te Po, Potential
White Te Ao, The world of light
Red Kura, Sacred blood lines

Koru ( Stylised 3 fingers)
Representing the baskets of knowledge, and Wi Pere’s teachers and schools of learning.

Pu Kanohi (Circular eye)
Signifies with an eye on the past linking the present.
